Commissioned cover page, first concept. I'm gonna have fun by not telling you what this is or what's happening here :p

I've never painted extreme emotions before... my characters tend to always looks pretty serene or contemplative. The nice thing about doing work for other people is that you're often forced out of your comfort zone.

I think you got the expressions just right, esp. the girl's face. Its contorted in desperation and pain.
I can almost feel it...

Also love the water flowing down the guy's face.

Another crit I could come up with is the lady's shoulders. The guy looks great anatomically.

If it makes any sense, it seems like her neck and shoulder muscles slope down, as if to go into a quiet calm position, instead of supporting her body. So while both her arms are in positions that should push those muscles up around her neck, they aren't, and it's throwing it a bit off.

Did that make any sense? =D I hope it did.

Thickening the arm may help with that, like suggested above. :3

I like this cover better, good job. Also, I miss Inverloch, but I do understand sometimes things need to end. Pheonix Requiem is wonderful, btw,and I love the background mythology in it. Very inventive. Keep up the good work all around!

I love your expressions. I'm really curous about why they're so upset...:p

This one's better than the other one. Version 2 has a pretty dull composition. This one is more dynamic and that's why I like it:)

I think your expressions came out well! Your picture makes me want to know where this story is going.

Amazing, as always ^_^ Facial expressions are quite hard sometimes (I usually end up making faces at myself in a mirror and looking like a total loony), but yours came out great!

Haha, I often find myself pulling the same expressions as my characters when I draw them - even though I don't have a mirror in front of me!
