There is a series of 5-minute short french films called 'Minuscule' where cartoony CG insects are animated over real backgrounds. They're humourous, cute, and sad, and if you've never seen or heard of it, click:

I came across a photo of some toadstools and was inspired to draw some with Caterpillar sheltered beneath them. Originally I was going to make it photoreal but thought better of it and went a little more sketchy and illustrative. I'm rather liking that, actually. Might do some more paintings like this :)

Wow, that's weird... I used to watch Minuscule too when it was showing on disney channel. This is a nice drawing.
